Starting MSRP: $29,999

While there are some that believe that the trike isn’t a “real motorcycle”, the fact is that it has staying power enough to last almost a decade thus far. And Harley-Davidson has taken note.

For 2023, the Freewheeler gets a mild refresh. The front end, headlight, tank console, hand and foot controls, powertrain, and exhaust all get black finishes, replacing the chrome that was there previously. Also, tire size at the rear goes up to 18-inches over the previous 15s.

It comes with an oil-and-air-cooled Milwaukee-Eight 1868cc V-twin that puts out 122 lb-ft of torque.

9 2023 Harley-Davidson Road King Special

Starting MSRP: $23,999

The Road King is part of Harley-Davidson’s “Grand American Touring” line of motorcycles. They’re usually termed as “dressers” or “baggers”, and while most touring motorcycles feature fairings at the front, the Road King range offers a more simplistic style for a grand tourer.

And while the standard Road King uses the 107 Milwaukee V-twin engine, the Special uses a slightly bigger motor. The 114 Milwaukee Eight V-twin that powers the Road King Special puts out 118 lb-ft of torque from the 1,868cc engine. It also features wider 180 section rear tires, and beefier front forks that are usually found on bigger Harleys. The Special further differentiates itself from the standard Road King with handlebar-mounted turn signals and newly designed Gloss Black Prodigy alloy wheels.

The Street Glide is another bike on this list from Harley-Davidson’s “Grand American Touring” line of motorcycles, and the Street Glide is arguably one of the manufacturer’s most iconic. As part of a recent refresh, it came with three new shades to pick from: Vivid Black, Midnight Crimson, or White Sand Pearl.

It packs a 1,745cc Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin engine that puts out 111 lb-ft of torque. Power gets put down via a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission with assist and slip clutch. Harley-Davidson gives the option of a significant number of accessory add-ons to the Street Glide, which makes it quite the able tourer.

One of the many exceptional touring bikes Harley-Davidson makes today is the Road Glide. It’s a big bagger that has become one of their top-selling models, and with good reason. It’s feature-rich, incredibly comfortable, and above all else, a Harley.

It utilizes the Milwaukee-Eight, arguable one of the best V-twins on the market today. It’s not the most powerful, or even the most efficient, but it delivers a very effective 111 lb-ft of torque. And importantly, The Road Glide’s ergonomics are good. The neutral riding position, easy reach handlebars, and wind protection make the Road Glide a very easy motorcycle to ride.

6 2023 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S

Starting MSRP: $18,199

The Harley-Davidson Low Rider S, in its latest update, gets the beefier, 1917cc Milwaukee-Eight motor. The engine was earlier exclusive for the CVO-badged models only, including the likes of the CVO Street Glide and the ultra-premium CVO Tri Glide. This engine churns out a healthy 125 lb-ft of torque.

As part of the update it received in 2022, the Low Rider S also comes with a modified version of the suspension found in the Softail. This one gets a 43 mm inverted front fork and a rear shock with 0.5-inch of additional stroke. This adds up to 1-inch of extra rear wheel travel and a 0.75-inch higher seat height as compared to the Softail’s setup.

5 2023 Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250

The Pan America 1250 is an important model for Harley-Davidson. The adventurer tourer was launched to revive the manufacturer’s plummeting sales.

It sports a compact 1,250cc V-twin, or “Revolution Max 1250” as Harley calls it, that does duty in the Pan America and the Pan America Special. It’s packed with features that are aimed at enhancing the riding experience. One such example is the semi-active suspension that lowers the seat height when the bike comes to a stop. And at a starting price of $17.699, the Pan America does make a very appealing case.

The Softail series has always been a fan favorite among the American cruiser motorcycling enthusiasts. Ever since its launch a few years back, it managed to bring forward the soulful character of the brand, which many of the previous monikers missed out on.

But Harley-Davidson hasn’t compromised on the Nightster. Unsurprisingly, its Revolution Max 975T engine is the star of the show. Tiny tweaks to the engine’s bore and stroke have resulted in the Nightster having a lively engine that rewards riders for venturing into the high end of the tacho. It even gets three rider modes: rain, road, and sport. Each provides varying degrees of throttle response, traction control, ABS sensitivity, and engine braking.

Overall, the Nightster’s combination of design, refinement, and tech make it a worthwhile option to consider.
