The FL model also had the highest displacement engine of 1207 cc, producing 48 horsepower. This is one of the most powerful bikes of that time, capable of pushing a maximum speed of 95 mph. As per Forbes, this vintage 1908 Harley-Davidson Strap Tank is the most expensive motorcycle ever to be sold in an auction. In January 2023 someone paid an insane $935K for this motorcycle, and with this much money, you can buy almost every top-spec Harley from every category, and still there will be money left for custom modifications. For the enthusiasts of motorcycle history, specially Harleys, this bike is hard to resist. The fuel tank was secured to the frame with the help of two nickel-plated bolts, and this also became the inspiration behind the name of the strap tank. This motorcycle had a 440cc single-cylinder engine when it was first introduced in 1908. The engine included the special IOE (intake-over-exhaust) exchange system, or F-Head. The spark plug is situated between the two valves, which were positioned on top of one another. Using a leather belt drive system, its 2.72 horsepower is sent to the rear wheel.

Co-developed by Swiss watch and jewelry maker Carl Bucherer and custom bike maker Bunderbike with Harley’s approval, this bike is entirely silver-plated with 630 diamonds all over the body. Various parts of the bike, such as mirrors, screws, and bolts, are gold-plated. There are armored glass safes on either side of the tank; one holds a Heaven six-prong solitaire ring with a 5.4-carat ring, and another has a one-off Bucherer watch. This magnificent piece of art is entirely handmade and took 2,500 hours to complete. You may think this bike is just a showpiece, but it’s not. It is actually a custom-made 2017 Softail Slim S with a fully operational 1.8-liter V-twin engine producing 109 lb-ft of torque. Bucherer launched this bike on the occasion of their 130th anniversary as a signature of their magnificent craftsmanship.
