Funeral held for Lancaster firefighter killed in crash
THE PICKUP OR THE DRIVER, YOU’RE TO CALL POLICE. A FUNERAL WAS HELD TODAY FOR A LANCASTER FIREFIGHTER KILLED LAST MONTH IN A MOTORCYCLE CRASH. CHRIS MCCANN WAS REMEMBERED BY HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FELLOW FIREFIGHTERS DURING THE SERVICE AT CALVARY CHURCH IN MANHEIM TOWNSHIP. MCCANN DIED SATURDAY AFTER A SERIOUS MOTORCYCLE CRASH SEPTEMBER 28TH. WHILE HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO WORK, HE WAS A TEN YEAR VETERAN OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. WE’RE ALL HERE TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT FOR CHRIS. A funeral was held Friday for a Lancaster firefighter killed in a crash.Chris McCann was remembered by his family, friends and fellow firefighters at Calvary Church in Manheim Township. McCann died Saturday of the injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash on Sept. 28 while on his way to work.He was a 10-year veteran of the city fire department.”We’re all here to show our support for Chris. I think that looking inside, seeing all the people from all over the place, really shows what kind of impact he had. He was well-known all over and well-loved by everybody,” firefighter Jarrod Galler said.York firefighters helped answer calls in Lancaster so McCann’s colleagues could attend the service.
