2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Debuts At 2024 New York International Auto Show

At the 2024 New York International Auto Show, Korean carmaker Hyundai has unveiled the 2025 Santa Cruz Pickup marking the global debut of this model. Previously the company had been dropping hints about the 2025 Santa Cruz’s arrival and had shared that it will make its debut at this event and now it has been officially revealed at the NY Auto Show.

The US has a huge market for pickup trucks and Hyundai cashed in on the same by introducing the Santa Cruz pickup truck in the US market back in 2021. The Santa Cruz shares its platform with the Tucson SUV and since the company was releasing an updated version of the SUV it was imperative that the company will also introduce an updated version of the pickup truck as well. The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup has made its global debut at the NY Auto Show which is currently underway in Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York, USA. Unveiling the 2025 Santa Cruz Pickup, Hyundai revealed that the latest iteration of this pickup truck has been designed in California and that it will make its way to the Hyundai dealerships in America by this summer.

The 2025 Santa Cruz Pickup truck has been introduced with refreshed exterior and interior design, new infotainment system and upgraded ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) features. It will also be offered in two new colour options – Rockwood Green and Canyon Red with Medium Gray seating surfaces

Design

The exterior of the 2025 Santa Cruz Pickup truck has been redesigned with bolder lines, increased off-road prowess, redesigned front fascia with new front grille, new front bumper, new alloy wheels, new DRLs and new headlamps. The interior of this pickup has also been redesigned following the theme seen in 2025 Tucson. It now features a new curved screen encompassing the 12.3-inch infotainment system and 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The centre console now also gets physical switchgear. Other notable changes on the inside include new steering wheel, new air vents and rear armrest with two cup holders.

Powertrain

The 2025 Santa Cruz Pickup has been introduced with two powertrains; the 2.5 L NA petrol engine producing 191 bhp and 245 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. It has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs. The other engine on offer is the 2.5 L TDGI engine producing 281 bhp and 421 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 8-speed DCT. It has a towing capacity of 5000 lbs. Both these versions will be offered with all-wheel drive technology

The XRT trims of the 2025 Santa Cruz Pickup will be offered with additional features like:

  • Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor
  • Wrench-inspired XRT-specific 18-inch wheels
  • Front tow hooks
  • XRT-exclusive front grille
  • XRT-exclusive front and rear bumper fascia designs
  • XRT logo debossing on front upper seatbacks
  • 245 / 60 R 18 all-terrain tyres

Commenting on the occasion Jose Munoz, President and Global COO, Hyundai Motor Company and President and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America said, “The development goal for freshening Santa Cruz was to give it an even bolder, stronger design. We also wanted Santa Cruz to be more capable, and the available XRT trim delivers with all-terrain tires, front tow hooks and improved off-road capability. Customers are going to appreciate all the new design details and enhancements inside and out. Santa Cruz is a true sport adventure vehicle”.
