Here’s Some Shocking News For Indian Motorcycle Fans

Not long ago, Indian Motorcycles revealed its revamped touring bike lineup. The Challenger, Pursuit, Springfield, and Roadmaster all went under the knife, taking the fight to Harley-Davidson squarely. Now, though, there’s a not-so-small hiccup for Indian fans. The American bikemaker has put out a stop sale for its new 2025 bikes, along with a recall.

The Indian Touring Lineup Recall And Stop-Sale Order Is Due To A Faulty Fuel Pump
According to Indian’s filing with NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), the 2025 touring bike lineup has a faulty fuel pump. The pump has an incorrectly crimped wire, which can cause failure. And we all know a fuel pump failure means you’re stranded on the road. Or if it happens mid-ride, it can even cause a crash.
The brand claims this is an error on its supplier’s (Walbro LLC) part, which is already working on a new pump with improved quality. Till then, the company has put a stop sale and delivery order on the said models. So you can’t get one of Indian’s fancy touring bikes as of now.
Indian Explains:
Indian Motorcycle has determined that some Model Year 2025 Challenger, Pursuit, Roadmaster and Springfield motorcycles may have been built with a fuel pump with an incorrectly crimped wire by the supplier. This may result in a fuel pump failure and vehicle stall during operation, which increases the risk of a crash and serious injury.
Less Than 10 Units Fall Under Indian’s Latest Recall
Since the aforementioned 2025 range debuted just two months back, the number of affected units is just seven across all 2025 Challenger, Pursuit, Roadmaster, and Springfield models. All of these have manufacturing dates from mid-November to early December 2024. If you’re one of the unlucky fellows, don’t fret.
Just reach out to your nearest Indian dealer, and the shop will replace your faulty fuel pump with a new one for free. In case any damage is done by the faulty pump, you can also file for reimbursement.
