New Honda NT1100 Sets Foot In The US To Worry Yamaha And BMW

Not long ago, we told you about Honda’s intention to bring its NT1100 to the US. And that has finally happened now. The touring bike is part of Honda’s 2025 lineup and bears a strong MSRP to undercut its arch-rivals. More importantly, it has a nifty trick in its arsenal to further worry other touring bikes in the segment.

The 2025 Honda NT1100 Has A 1,084cc Engine With An Automatic Transmission
Across the pond, Honda sells the NT1100 in two transmission options: manual and DCT. Both are six-speed units but the latter does the shifting for you, effectively ensuring effortless riding across scenarios. You can also shift manually via buttons on the left switchgear as and when needed. In the US, Honda offers the NT with only the six-speed DCT. This makes it the only “automatic” touring bike in the segment.
The transmission comes paired to Honda’s popular 1,084cc, parallel-twin engine. It’s identical to the Africa Twin and Rebel 1100, producing 100 horsepower and 82 pound-feet. That output kicks in well under 8,000 RPM for impressive low-end grunt and tractability. Accordingly, the claimed mileage sits at around 50 miles per gallon for a total range of 250 miles.

Showa Suspension And Top-Shelf Electronics Come Standard On The NT1100
You might or might not like the peak output. But you will surely dig the equipment on offer elsewhere. A steel chassis sits as the centerpiece, cradled onto Showa 43 mm USD forks and a Showa monoshock. Both ends are adjustable and pair up with 17-inch alloy wheels for a sporty ride. The fancy Showa EERA electronic suspension isn’t available in the US, though.
To keep things under control, you get two 310 mm front discs and a 256 mm rear disc. Both ends have Nissin calipers and ABS. A further safety net comes from the array of electronic aids, which honestly seem overkill for something that weighs 547 pounds and has 100 ponies. Nevertheless, extra safety is always nice.

Finally, let’s talk pricing. Honda has priced the NT1100 at a competitive MSRP of $11,899. There’s only one color: Pearl Hawkeye Blue. At this moolah, it undercuts the Yamaha Tracer 9 by $700, the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 by $596, and the BMW F 900 XR by a mere $96. That’s a strong market position if you ask us–one that could mean impressive sales for the NT. The panniers are not standard here, however. So you’ll need to account for those if you’re really serious about touring.
