The Top 5 Fastest Electric Bikes On The Market: 2024 Edition
As we attempt to move into a more eco-friendly and green future, alternate propulsion has well and truly begun to become not only more accessible but also more common. Manufacturers like Harley-Davidson, Lightning, Damon, Energica, and a few others are spearheading this move, and there’s genuine reason to be excited about the future.
Typically, when electric motorcycles are mentioned, there are two primary concerns: are they quick enough? And do they have enough range for someone to not miss an ICE-equivalent motorcycle? No doubt, plenty of other concerns are mentioned, too, but it’s safe to suggest that these two aspects come up more often than not.
If you look at the overall picture, and with technology and processes constantly evolving, range anxiety is becoming less and less of an issue. But what’s really heartening is that there are more than a few electric motorcycles that are not only fast but can also give their ICE-equipped swift rivals a serious run for their money.
In that sense, 2024 is a great time for those looking to make the transition to a quick and powerful electric motorcycle, and we’ve done the legwork and narrowed down the choices for you in this list.
How We Got Our Model Selections: To compile this list, HotCars did a thorough scan of all the prominent motorcycle manufacturers and their electric motorcycle offerings. Considering the term ‘fast’ involves many factors, we decided to simplify things by narrowing down the options based on their top speeds. Other key performance metrics have also been included for each entry. It should be noted that this list only has motorcycles that are currently in production. Also, the entries have been organized in increasing order of power output.
5 Verge TS Ultra
Top Speed: 124 mph
The futuristic-looking Verge TS Ultra is kicking things off on this list and there’s a lot going for this electric bike. It might have the lowest top speed here on this list, but viewed in isolation, a 124 mph top whack is nothing to be scoffed at. Other than that, the TS Ultra comes packed with advanced features. This includes four riding modes, and for those looking to access that top speed, the ‘Beast’ mode is the one to pick. There’s also a large 8-inch integrated touchscreen, where you can alter the ride modes and check your speed, battery range, and other critical information. It also benefits from traction control and ABS as standard.
The standout bit about the bike is its performance, which, as you’d expect, is nothing short of blistering. 0-60 mph is dispatched in under 3 seconds, top speed comes in at 124 mph, and thanks to the placement of the battery, it feels planted and nimble to ride. In case you were wondering, the TS Ultra also brings back some decent efficiency. The TS Ultra’s 21.8 kWh battery means you can pack in 233 miles of city riding and 134 miles of highway riding, as per Verge.

13 Exciting 2024 Electric Motorcycles That You Need To Know About
Looking to cash in on the alternate propulsion wave? These electric motorcycles need to be on your list.
4 Evoke 6061-GT
Top Speed: 143 mph
An electric motorcycle that’s also a cruiser? That’s the idea behind the Evoke 6061-GT, and it holds much promise. Keeping aside the 143 mph top speed for a moment, the 6061-GT marks itself as multi-talented. One example of this is its impressive electronics setup. The 6061-GT has four major control systems: vehicle control, discharge control, charge control, and external protocol.
The goal is to give the rider access to maximum charging power with the shortest charge time and, subsequently, some impressive efficiency figures. Thanks to its patented Battery Management System, which accrues and manages data from more than 100 sensors, things like temperature, input and output current, and voltages for each battery bank are managed. As for power, that comes courtesy of a permanent magnet, multi-wound synchronous motor that makes 120.6 hp at 8,000 rpm. And thanks to a whopping torque output, it can crack 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds and go on to a top speed of 143 mph.

10 Electric Motorcycles To Look Out For In 2024
Electric motorcycles are where electric cars were ten years ago. It’s all new and exciting but fast-evolving. These are the ones to look out for.
3 Energica Ego+ RS
Top Speed: 150 mph
The first one on this list to crack the 150 mph top speed mark is the Energica Ego+ RS, and in case you missed it, the company has some serious racing pedigree. Back in 2018, Energica was selected as the supplier for the Motor World Cup by Dorna, no less. The Ego, its first production model, was used as the platform for the race bike called the Ego Corsa. After that, it was used as the spec machine for the one-make electric bike racing series for four years. So, it’s safe to assume that they’ve got plenty of opportunities to refine their craft and help convince you about their offerings.
The Ego+ RS takes all that learning and puts it to devouring use. This means it has a blistering 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 150 mph. Its EMCE motor puts out an impressive amount of power and torque. What’s interesting to note is that the updated EMCE motor and inverter for the Ego+ RS are about 22 lbs lighter than the previous motor. All this leads to better performance, thermal efficiency, and even range.

This Electric Motorcycle Could Be The Tesla Cybertruck’s Two-Wheeled Twin
Ola Electric unveiled its Diamondhead motorcycle, and it has an uncanny resemblance to the Tesla Cybertruck.
2 Damon HyperSport
Top Speed: 200 mph
Ask anyone in the know, and they’ll be able to tell you how daunting a task it is to create an electric motorcycle. Creating an electric superbike with segment-beating specs reliably? Even tougher. And yet, Canada-based electric motorcycle company Damon has seemingly managed the feat with the incredible HyperSport.
Not only is the HyperSport a looker, but the headline is the absurd 200 mph top speed claim. This is thanks to a high-performance electric motor, essentially a proprietary motor-inverter combination that delivers 200 hp, 200 mph, and 200 miles. We’re sensing a bit of an affinity to a certain number here. Where that trend breaks is the 0-60 mph claimed time, which is under 3 seconds.
The direct oil- and liquid-cooled motor is coupled to a 2.5:1 single-speed gearbox, and the bike also comes with plenty of impressive features, such as the CoPilot hazard warning system, which alerts riders of potential danger by way of 360-degree HD cameras and long-range radar sensors.

The age of EVs is upon us, and it’s about time we looked at the two-wheeled options in a quest to find the most affordable electric sport bike.
1 Lightning LS-218
Top Speed: 218 mph
Crowning this list with its incredible 218 mph top speed is the Lightning LS-218, and it’s quite the accomplished motorcycle. It’s the first electric motorcycle to better 200 mph, and the LS-218 is also the holder of three land speed records.
This impressive knowledge and know-how come because Lightning developed and tested their electric motorcycles in race competitions before implementing their learnings into the LS-218. This also means a blistering 0-60 mph time of 2 seconds.
Add to this the LS-218’s relatively light weight, and it’s easy to see how it’s quite a well-rounded motorcycle. Other noteworthy bits include Lightning’s claim that its 20 kWh battery can be charged to 80% with a Level 3 charging unit in a scant 35 minutes.
