The Ryvid Anthem has been one of the most popular American-made electric motorcycles since its debut. Now, two years later, the California-based bikemaker has revealed another EV based on the Anthem: the Ryvid Outset. As the name might give away, the new e-motorcycle wants you to “set out” by being a more rugged option over its street-only sibling. Here’s everything you need to know.
The Most Affordable Electric Sports Bike On The Market
In a sea of pricey electric sports bikes, this model is the most budget-friendly option for you. And no, it’s not Chinese.
The Ryvid Outset Has A Minimalistic Scrambler-Like Aesthetic
One look at the Outset, and it instantly feels like a mix breed scrambler-motocross offering. It has a tall stature with 7.5 inches of ground clearance, complete with a motocross bike-like rear fender and front beak. This is topped by minimalistic bodywork, stanchion covers, handguards, and a beefy dual-purpose rubber for a more butch appearance than the Anthem. A special mention goes to the LED tail lamp neatly hidden inside the tail section. So from a side view, the rear looks squeaky clean and super sharp.
You can have the Outset in two colors: Vapor Gray and Sector Red. The former drapes the bike in a sinister dark gray livery without any graphics, whereas the former wraps it in a dual-tone red-white finish. All-black mechanicals, battery case, and silver swingarm are common between the two.
This is also a good time to talk about features. You get:
- All-LED lights
- 4.9-inch TFT display
- USB port
- Fast charging
- Two ride modes (with reverse)
- Regenerative braking
- Cruise control

A 14kW Motor And 4.3kWh Battery Power The Ryvid Outset
Under the skin, the Ryvid Outset hides a 14kW (peak) electric motor sourced from the Anthem. It has 53 pound-feet of torque via a single-speed transmission, good for a claimed 75 mph top speed–exactly the same as its street sibling. It’s the same story in the battery department.
You get a 4.3kWh removable battery pack, good for a peak range of 70 miles in Eco mode. Sit constantly at 55 mph or 70 mph and the range drops to 46 and 36 miles respectively. Once out of juice, it’ll take you 3.5 hours to juice back to full charge from a 110V supply (or two hours from a 220V supply).
Other notable mechanical details include:
- Adjustable USD forks (6.5 inches travel)
- Adjustable monoshock (1.8 inches travel)
- 33-inch saddle height
- 315 pounds ready-to-go weight
- 320 mm front and 240 mm rear disc
- 52-inch wheelbase

And it also has twice as much torque as the Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide ST
Like the specifications? Then, you’ll be even happier with the price. That’s because Ryvid has priced the Outset at under $6,000, making it the most affordable highway-ready electric motorcycle here. It’s priced much lower than the over $7,000 Kawasaki Z e-1, for instance.
To make matters sweeter, you can even buy the Outset without a battery. So if you already own an Anthem, just get the Outset without the battery and run them from the same battery depending what you’re in the mood for. It’s certainly a step in the right direction for Ryvid in our books!
