Verge Motorcycles Opens Two Stores In The US

We have previously told you about Verge Motorcycles, the Finnish company that produces electric motorcycles with a hubless rear wheel and integrated Rim Motor. Up until recently, Verge sold its cycles to consumers directly through the internet. But now, Verge has made a move to sell directly to riders in California with the opening of two Verge stores, one in Los Angeles and one in Santa Clara.

To commemorate its entry into the US market, Verge has released a special edition of its mid-point TS Pro model, which it calls the “California Edition.”  Its starting price of $29,900 is not inexpensive, and the California Edition adds another $1,000 to the price tag. For that extra grand, you get a dual-tone top fairing (faux gas tank), an Öhlins suspension, a perforated leather seat, and a “custom-branded Human Machine Interface (HMI).”

However, the Verge machines do have some impressive characteristics and figures that help them stand out among electric motorcycles.

Interesting Characteristics

Probably the most distinct part of the Verge TS Pro and TS Pro California Edition is its hubless rear wheel. It’s not the first time anyone has seen one, but it is the first serial production-based machine to utilize one. When you look at the bike from the side, it has the “How do they do that look?”

The next interesting characteristic is that the Verge TS Pro and Verge TS Pro California Edition use a CCS charging port that allows both AC slow and DC fast charging. As a result, according to Verge, the TS Pro can be charged from 0 to 80% in as little as 35 minutes.

TS Pro TS Pro California Specs

As an electric motorcycle, Verge’s bikes will always be compared to internal combustion engine machines. With the current crop of electric motorcycles, the elephant in the room is range. In the case of the Verge TS Pro, the claimed city range is 217 miles and 124 highway miles. If accurate, these range figures are among the best for a bike in its category. If you are interested in Verge Motorcycles, you can go to their website or visit either of their California stores for more information.
