Deliveries of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will commence 23 April onwards.
Volkswagen has finally launched the sportier and more potent version of Tiguan — the Tiguan R-Line — in India at a price of 49 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in a single variant, the Tiguan R-Line gets mechanical and cosmetic upgrades over the standard Tiguan. Bookings for the Tiguan R-Line commenced last month and will come to India as a fully-imported CBU model.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Design
The Tiguan R-Line shares its core design with the standard Tiguan but stands out with several sporty cosmetic enhancements. These include more aggressive bumpers, a larger front grille, sleeker headlamps with integrated DRLs, prominent front splitters, and distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED taillamps and exclusive R-Line badging add to its dynamic appeal.
The new Tiguan R-Line will be offered in six striking exterior color options: Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with a Mother of Pearl Effect, and Oyster Silver Metallic.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Features
As the sportiest trim in the Tiguan lineup, the R-Line boasts an all-black interior highlighted by striking red accents on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. It comes equipped with a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Comfort and convenience are further enhanced by premium features such as a wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and heated and ventilated front seats.
In terms of safety, the Tiguan R-Line includes six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, it may come equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like lane keep assist, forward collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control—offering a safer and more confident driving experience.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Powertrain
Powering the new Tiguan R-Line will be a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a DSG gearbox. The engine makes 201 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque and the power will be diverted to all four wheels via Volkswagen’s 4Motion AWD system.
