Kia Syros: Top 7 segment-first features to know about – Car News

Pre-bookings for Kia Syros commenced earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 25,000. It is available in six trims namely HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, and HTX+, HTX+(O).
Kia pulled the covers off the Syros more than a month ago but the Korean carmaker didn’t divulge any significant details about the car barring some mechanical specifications. As we got an opportunity to drive and test the Syros recently, we came to know a lot more about Kia’s latest sub-4 metre SUV offering.
The Kia Syros is loaded to gills with features making it arguably the most premium offering in the subcompact SUV. Ahead of its launch expected to take place in the first week of February, let us take a look at top 5 segment-leading features to be offered in Kia Syros.
Trinity Panoramic Display
The Syros is the first sub-4 metre SUV to get a triple screen layout with a 30-inch Trinity display which houses a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12-3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 5-inch display for climate control settings. Moreover, it is the first vehicle in this segment to an infotainment setup with Over-the-Air updates.

Sliding and recline for second row seats
Kia has focussed on offering a very premium and comfortable rear seat experience with the Syros. Hence, the rear seats offer sliding and reclining functionality to enhance the comfort of the rear seat occupants. Besides the fact that Kia claims class-leading headroom, legroom, and knee room for the second-row passengers, the Syros offers versatility by offering adjustable boot space of 390-465 litres.
Ventilated front & rear seats
Seat ventilation has gradually become a very popular feature in the sub-tropical climate of India. However, until now it has mostly been offered only in the front seats. The Syros is the first vehicle in this space to offer seat ventilation for the rear seats as well. That said, unlike the front seats which offer ventilation for both the back as well as the butt, the rear seats offer ventilation for the butt only.

Flush-fitting door handles
While we are not allowed to express our opinions yet, one of key visual highlights of the Syros are the flush-fitting door handles which not only improve aerodynamic but also provide a much cleaner appearance.
All 4 one-touch power windows
The Syros is the first SUV in this sub-4 metre space to offer one touch operation for all four windows. This means occupants can either pull down or pull up the windows with a single push of the power window button.
Level 2 ADAS
Until now, models in this segment like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO offer a Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). However, the Syros takes it a notch higher with 16 Level 2 ADAS features such as Front Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking to name a few.
Sun-blinds for rear seats
Sun-blinds as a factory fitment is a rarity for mass-market cars in India, and Kia Syros is the first sub-4 metre SUV to get this feature.
