2025 Subaru Solterra

Subaru of America, Inc., announced pricing and updates for its 2025 Solterra, the all-electric SUV that debuted last year with an emphasis on practicality, performance, and sustainability. In a bold move to broaden its appeal, the 2025 Solterra arrives with a starting MSRP of $38,495—an impressive $6,500 drop from the 2024 model—before federal, state, and local tax credits. The updated lineup will hit retailers nationwide early next year.

The Solterra family expands in 2025 with the introduction of the Touring Onyx Edition trim, catering to consumers with a taste for sophistication and style. Priced at $45,495 MSRP, the new variant boasts 20-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels, black interior and exterior accents, and exclusive two-tone color options.

Features That Define Subaru’s Electric SUV

Every Solterra is engineered with Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and StarDrive® technology, which utilizes dual electric motors to deliver 249 lb-ft of torque. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance—best in class among small electric SUVs—the Solterra continues Subaru’s legacy of off-road readiness. The standard Dual-Function X-MODE® system, paired with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes, ensures confidence whether navigating rugged terrain or icy streets.

The high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack delivers a practical daily range and can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 35 minutes via DC fast charging. Cold-weather performance was improved in 2024 with an enhanced battery conditioning system, and the Solterra remains compatible with Level 1 and Level 2 charging for home use.

Technology and Safety at the Forefront

Subaru equips every Solterra with a suite of EyeSight® driver-assist technologies, including Emergency Steering Assist, Pre-Collision Brake Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Tracing Assist. These features helped the 2024 Solterra earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation and a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

A 12.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is standard on Limited and higher trims. The premium trims also include heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a Harman Kardon® sound system, enhancing the driving experience.

Trim Levels and Pricing

The 2025 Solterra offers four trims: Premium, Limited, Touring, and the new Touring Onyx Edition. Each trim includes an array of standard and optional features:

  • Solterra Premium ($38,495): Standard roof rails, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, and an 8-inch touchscreen.
  • Solterra Limited ($41,995): Adds 20-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable seats, heated rear seats, and a 360-degree camera system.
  • Solterra Touring ($44,995): Includes a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, and advanced parking assist.
  • Solterra Touring Onyx Edition ($45,495): Features exclusive black accents, two-tone color options, and StarTex® upholstery.

Prices listed exclude the $1,420 destination and delivery fee, which varies in certain states.

A Convenient Ownership Experience

As an added perk, Subaru will provide up to 10 days of complimentary “Subaru Just Drive Rental” with the purchase or lease of a new Solterra. This program allows owners to experience other Subaru vehicles through participating retailers.

With competitive pricing, expanded trims, and cutting-edge features, the 2025 Subaru Solterra cements its position as a compelling choice in the electric SUV market.
