New Hero adventure maxi scooter teased ahead of EICMA 2023 debut – Bike News

With more and more riders looking out for adventure machines, two-wheeler manufacturers are planning to bring more exciting models for consumers, even in the scooter segment. While adventure motorcycles already have a sizable market, adventure scooters are slowly gaining traction in global markets.

It looks like Hero MotoCorp will be joining the bandwagon by introducing its first adventure scooter. The homegrown two-wheeler brand recently teased the upcoming adventure scooter on its social media handles. The teaser shows three models which will be displayed at the upcoming edition of EICMA in Milan, Itay in the next few days.

Hero adventure maxi scooter teased

Out of three models teased, the scooter taking centre stage looks interesting as a similar patent filed by Hero MotoCorp was leaked on the internet a couple of months back. In all probability this could be the same model. Like most adventure scooters globally, the upcoming Hero two-wheeler gets a Maxi-scooter styling, in line with Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SR 160.

The largest Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has shared another teaser of the upcoming Maxi-style scooter on social media. In the short video, Hero describes it as an “SUV on two wheels”. The video ends with the sub-text reading “an adventure awaits” with the emphasis on words like “X-PLORE, X-CITE, and X-PERIENCE”; suggesting the scooter’s eminent naming pattern.

Expected specs, design, & features

The short teaser video reveals a few very critical design cues. For instance, it gets an aggressive front fascia featuring a twin LED headlamp setup with integrated LED DRLs that gives out the impression of a high-end adventure bike like Ducati Hypermotard. There is also a sizable windscreen up front that lends it the ADV appearance.

Reports indicate that the upcoming adventure maxi scooter is likely to borrow its powertrain from the Xtreme 160 4V. This means it is likely to be powered by a 163cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. In Xtreme, this motor churns out 16.6 bhp and 14.6 Nm of peak torque. Expect it to be slightly detuned in the upcoming scooter.

As far as features are concerned, Hero is likely to load the upcoming adventure scooter with gizmos like full-colour TFT screen, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music playback, rider telematics, etc. Expect the Hero adventure scooter to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom)
