Yamaha Motor PH stages exclusive 3-day ride with NMax Tech Max users

MANILA: Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has staged a three-day ride with owners of the NMax Tech Max scooter.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Yamaha NMax Tech Max?

The maxi scooter is powered by a 155 cc engine.

  • How much power does it make?

It produces 15.1 hp and 14.2 Nm.

  • According to the local wing of the Japanese motorcycle company, participants were taken from Quezon City, Manila, to San Fernando, Pampanga. These two-wheel enthusiasts were treated to scenic northern provincial roads via a performance-driven ride.

Spearheading the event is the Yamaha Riding Academy, which used “special Y-ECVT (Yamaha Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission) hand signals” along the journey.

The company’s safe and proper riding-promoting arm also instructed riders when to use the model’s two riding modes, as well as its three-level downshift controls — helping them get the best out of their steeds.

As an example, the group were told to toggle between the Yamaha NMax Tech Max’s Touring and Sports modes. The former, used as the group traversed the winding roads of Jose Abad Santos highway (connecting San Fernando, Mexico, Apalit, and Lubao, Pampanga).

“Whether it was gliding through traffic or surging ahead with precision, the ride felt smarter, sharper, and more intuitive,” YMPH was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile the latter was utilized on the aggressive twisties leading into Zambales’ coastal curves.

“The Sports mode delivers an instant response and heightened control, seamlessly matching the road’s rhythm and the engine’s performance,” the motorcycle manufacturer added.

According to YMPH, more motorcycle enthusiasts will get to experience the revolution brought by the NMax Tech Max’s Y-ECVT. The brand will hold test rides with the said nameplate alongside the Aerox SP, which also sports the same technology.
